The Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd, based in Zurich, Switzerland, is the world’s second largest reinsurer and leading wholesale provider of insurance and other insurance-based forms of risk transfer. Over the years, Swiss Re has been a resilient expert in protecting customers against inevitable difficulties and hardships.
From venue research to onsite execution, Clearwater Communications performed full event management for Swiss Re Asia Days in 2016 and 2017. Working hand-in-hand with the Swiss Re Asia Days Organizing Committee, CwC created the event key visual, assisted in program planning, production, registration and secretariat, logistics coordination, as well as suppliers and vendors management.
Swiss Re Asia Days is an annual leadership and employee for the Asia Pacific region, bringing people together from across its regional markets, to celebrate achievements, connect people to the strategy, and to address some of the opportunities and challenges that the region faces. Held over 2.5 days, the event includes a welcome cocktail, plenary sessions, breakout sessions, an off-site dinner and Asia Awards Night.
In 2016, Asia Days was held in Mumbai, the City of Dreams, where attendees experienced the rich culture of India. The theme revolved around five Indian spices, which was splashed on the event décor and marketing creatives. Bits of Indian culture peeked through in the entertainment, team building exercises and day-to-day meals. As this event was held in India, CwC was challenged to comply with safety and security regulations with the hotel. That’s why CwC’s team made frequent site visits to assure compliancy with all vendors.
As the importance of the China insurance market increases, it was fitting Asia Days 2017 was hosted in the city of Tianjin. The focus of the event was on Chinese culture, the steps and innovations they are taking to lead the way in the insurance sector, and the solutions being developed to help society in China become more resilient. Unlike last year’s setup, the 255 attendees were split into smaller, more focused groups. The groups attended sessions concurrently in different rooms in the hotel and rotated after each session. A distinctive challenge this year was ensuring that all groups finished at the same time and rooms were ready for rotation. Despite the logistical challenge of the group rotation, CwC overcame the obstacle and the breakout sessions were executed seamlessly.
"For the second year in a row we brought the CwC team on board to support our annual leadership and employee conference, held this year in Tianjin, China. From the outset, the CwC team brought energy, leadership, and great ideas to the table. They have gotten to know our business, were able to navigate our complexity, and clearly understood what we were trying to achieve with our event, and consistently provided us with a range of solutions. Their organized, and flexible approach, meant that they were able to help deliver another strong and memorable event. It was a pleasure working with the team, who went over and above for Swiss Re. I look forward to our continued partnership!"
