The annual Employee of the Year award is a reward and incentive program to recognize DHL Express Asia Pacific employees who have made an outstanding contribution to the company in terms of sales and overall service excellence.

An invitation to this memorable event is exclusive and only employees who have contributed to the success of DHL will be invited; it allows employees to share their notable performances with other countries and for management to identify role models for other staff. The event is also a great opportunity for awardees to network and develop friendships with other top performers, learn more about DHL operations in an informal setting and provide DHL senior management an opportunity to publicly recognize awardees in a significant manner.


Bangkok also known as the Land of Smiles, is undoubtedly one of APAC’s hottest tourist spots. Known for its rich culture and exquisite cuisine, Bangkok was the ideal location to host DHL’s Employee of the Year 2016. CwC created a theme surrounding Thai culture over the course of the 3-day program. 

Upon entrance at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Hotel, awardees were greeted by Thai Ladies who greeted them with flower necklaces and welcome gift bags. 

The next day, awardees set off to the cultural tours of Bangkok – the tours include temple visits, a river cruise, excursions to flower market and a visit at the Artist House (Baan Silapin). In the evening, awardees enjoyed a lavish Thai-themed welcome dinner at the Siam Niramit with performances. 
On Day 2, awardees took part in a Community Team Building Activity with the orphanage, Rajvithi Home For Girls and spent hours dedicated to painting cabinets, building shoe racks, repairing the playground, maintaining the garden, serving lunch, and spending quality play time with the children. 

From Rajivithi Home for Girls, the group took over the streets of Bangkok in 100 DHL branded Tuk Tuks for a short sightseeing tour and shopping excursion. Awardees ended their night dancing in a one of Bangkok’s hottest rooftop bars. 

Starting off Day 3 in excitement, awardees participated in a specially designed “The Amazing Race” activity that enabled groups to work in teams and complete challenges while also visiting various famous spots of Bangkok. Ending the evening in style, awardees dressed to impress at the Awards Gala Dinner where trophies were handed out in a well-paced, high-energy evening. Interspersed throughout the awards evening were music and dance performances that got everyone up on their feet.
