Hilton is a leading global hospitality company, with a portfolio of 14 world-class brands comprising nearly 4,900 properties with more than 800,000 rooms in 104 countries and territories. China is the largest market outside of the US for Hilton and the group is constantly innovating to win the hearts of Chinese customers, at home and abroad.
The Hilton Quanzhou Riverside is Hilton’s 100th Hotel in Greater China and the opening of Hilton Quanzhou Riverside underscores Hilton’s continued growth and marks the debut of the flagship Hilton brand in Fujian Province.
CwC was tasked with the overall event management of the one day event composed of a morning Hotel Opening Ceremony, two high level lunches and a Gala Dinner. The event was attended by 400 people including hotel owners, stakeholders, senior corporate leaders of Hilton, media and business partners. The event aims to showcase the Hilton hotel brand message as well as celebrating the No. 100 Hilton Hotel opening in Greater China.
CwC was appointed as the Event Manager by Hilton to undertake the full event management mandate. Also a key task of CwC was to manage and coordinate with the stakeholders involved to balance between addressing stakeholders’ needs and ensuring the Hilton Brand message was clearly channeled to the public.
CwC came up with the theme of Sailing into New Frontiers for the event and created a key visual with a sailing ship and circle, symbolizing both pearl and moon. The sailing ship highlighted the natural oceanic-inspired décor which symbolized Hilton embarking on a journey into new frontiers. The circle represents both the moon and the pearl in the key visual as the ship is sailing day and night into the new frontiers and the pearl also symbolizes wisdom acquired through experience which best represents the brand continuing to be the global leaders of hospitality.
The key visual clearly articulates Hilton’s intent and ambition for the future; to be the innovative, forward-thinking global leaders of hospitality.
CwC has successfully brought the theme to life by creating a customer journey with the use of creative decoration, an Opening Ceremony gimmick and Gala Dinner entertainment. To keep in line with the theme and to add an element of uniqueness to the opening ceremony, we had a “Hoisting the Sail” ceremony instead of the traditional ribbon cutting.
Solid operations and logistics experience is sought from the event management as the event was fast-paced and highly interactive with a combination of an intimate hotel tour, high level lunches and a Gala Dinner which required thorough logistic planning and time management onsite.
